DoIP ISO 13400

With Diagnostics over IP, diagnostic services introduced over UDS are used over TCP/IP and Ethernet. This enables much higher data rates than with CAN, representing great potential for savings both in terms of time and expenses in the case of complex diagnostic tasks and flash applications.

Ethernet-based communication allows new concepts in vehicle diagnostics, for example direct vehicle access from the tester even without a VCI and considerably simplified integration of the diagnostic interface into the IT infrastructure. In the case of service applications, when Ethernet and the legally prescribed CAN bus are to be operated, your best option is to use a powerful VCI.

Softing experience in DoIP

Based on its experience in diagnostics and communication as well as its participation in the ISO workgroup, Softing has played an active part in the definition of standards from the outset. The company's experience in linking VCIs by computer over Ethernet was of great significance.

DoIP is available for the diagnostic interface HSC. Protocol software with DoIP stack on the workstation for use with Ethernet cable and alternatively with support of the DoIP stack on the HSC.
